The Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries Parks Marine Foundation supports the next generation of professionals dedicated to conserving Mississippi’s natural resources through annual scholarship opportunities.
Coastal Conservation Scholarship
Award Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: MDMR employees and dependents
Focus Areas: Marine Science, Biology, Coastal Ecology, GIS, Natural Resources Management, and related fields
Key Requirements
- Mississippi resident
- Current MDMR employee or dependent
- Enrolled in a Mississippi college, university, or community college
- Freshman through graduate student
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
Timeline
- June 15: Applications Open
- July 1: Applications Close
- First Week of July: Application Review
- Second Week of July: Interviews
- Third Week of July: Award Presentation
Outdoor Conservation Scholarship
Award Amount: Up to four scholarships of $3,000 each
Eligibility: MDWFP employees, Foundation employees, dependents, and current MDWFP interns
Focus Areas: Wildlife, Fisheries, Parks, Conservation, Natural Resources, and related fields
Key Requirements
- Mississippi resident
- Current Mississippi hunting and fishing license
- Sophomore through graduate student
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Related field of study
- Previous recipients are not eligible
Timeline
- February 1: Scholarship Applications Open
- July 15: Scholarship Applications Close
- Third Week of July: Selection Review
- Fourth Week of July: Applicant Interviews
- First Week of August: Presentation of Awards
